Blind Trust and Buzzing Bees: Our Woodland Adventure Book Bites
We take our mini podcast episode into the woods for three friendship exercises that celebrate our long-standing connection while tying into our full-length "Out of the Woods" episode.
• Book character descriptions of each other, revealing how we see one another's essence
• Creating paper airplanes with meaningful memories and wishes written inside
• Blind trust exercise involving rock stacking with one person blindfolded
• Reminiscing about our "ugly and proud days" that predated the modern concept of "rotting"
• Sharing wishes for authentic living and creating a compound to raise our families together
• Navigating persistent bees and potential water mishaps with humor
• Successfully completing challenges while preserving our perfectly applied lashes
For the full imagery of our woodland adventure, check out our YouTube channel where you can watch these friendship exercises in action.

Hi everybody, welcome back to another episode of Book Bites, one of our minis, I'm Susie.
Speaker 2:I'm Kylie, and today we're in the woods. So for sound qualities, a little bit different disclaimer for audio listeners we are in the woods, so if you would like to see the full imagery, you can go over to our youtube channel, and we are on there as well and just remember we're doing the best we can out in the wilderness our backyard all right.
Speaker 2:So today's mini episode is going to tie into our full-length episode um of out of the woods, and so we have a couple little couples exercises and just fun things today. So we're going to start with doing book character descriptions of each other. Okay, okay, I want you to go first. Okay.
Speaker 1:All right, so I'm so excited I didn't give her a fake name. I had thought about like doing that as well, but I didn't. So Kylie, she has an ethereal beauty and features to her. Her skin could be mistaken by a marble sculpture. Her life story would make anybody cry if they heard it in one sitting. So she usually takes her time to open up. She's very independent and she's the owner of the bookstore cafe in town in a quiet woodland city. And she's the owner of the bookstore cafe in town in a quiet woodland city. Her house is a warm cottagecore dreamland that any girl on Pinterest would be drooling for. Let's see. She has the perfect reading nook with her rescue cats all 17 of them, we don't judge here and they spend their days sleeping in while she's busy making sure every kid in town learns to read. The town doesn't know it, but she has a secret magic book locked away in the back that will be able to rid this town of its horrific, ghostly history. But does she even know if she'll figure it out in time?
Speaker 2:Oh, my god, I freaking love this. That was like the back of a book. That was so good. I love that. I was like, oh, writing stories is fun. Yeah, that's so fun. I love the ghost thing. Oh, I just love that. Good job, thank you okay. So mine is where she's gonna hate it guys. Um, mine is more of if I was writing a book and like your character in my book yes, okay.
Speaker 2:I'm so nervous I'll look away, okay. Susie pulls up to my drive in her pickup truck. Daisy, her corgi, comes barreling onto the porch as I lean down and give her ear scratches. Susie has been my best friend for 16 years 17 now and we've both changed a lot. She traded in her Reba McIntyre hair for long curly locks and tattoos galore. She has really come into herself as an adult and no longer feels pressured to be who people want her to be. She's tough on the exterior, but only a close few who get to know her know how sensitive she really is. She's a friend who will go toe-to-toe with a burly man in the bar but also sends you Snapchats crying at 7 am. As she reaches the porch, she starts shaking the cup in her hand. I got coffee bitch, oh my god that's so good.
Speaker 1:We need to write short stories about each other. This is fun. Okay, this was the best mini we've done, yet I like this okay, that was our first, our first couples exercise.
Speaker 2:Yeah, our first couple's exercise.
Speaker 1:Yeah, okay, for our next activity, guys, we're going to be doing one of the things from the book. So if you watch our full-length episode for August this month, you'll understand. We have been friends for a long time, so we have a lot of memories and a lot of moments I know together, and some funny ones and some cringe ones. So we're gonna make paper airplanes and we're going to write down our favorite, our favorite, or even a wish that you have for each other, or something that you're too cringe I'm not gonna say it out loud we don't do emotions, we're gonna write it down.
Speaker 2:Yeah, don't do emotions.
Speaker 3:It won't be too deep, but we don't want to cry like I did at suzy's wedding, but nothing will beat that yeah, that was oh, but I felt so loved, it was so sweet so, yeah, that's what we're gonna be doing next.
Speaker 1:Hang tight. I also don't know how to make a paper airplane, so we'll, we'll see how this goes.
Speaker 2:That'll be half the fun. But paper airplanes are a big component in the book, that's true, so we felt like that was important.
Speaker 1:A nice little nod to that. Wait, a nice little nod to that.
Speaker 3:You have to cut them. I'm going to oh, shoot, you can do whatever your heart desires.
Speaker 1:But I want to watch you do it. No, that's cheating. What could go wrong?
Speaker 3:here. Let me think about this.
Speaker 2:I feel like I used to know.
Speaker 1:Ah, nope. It looks more like a little rocket.
Speaker 3:Oh, I got it, I got it, I got it. I can't say it's air worthy it looks more like a little rocket.
Speaker 1:Oh, I got it, I got it, I got it. I can't say it's airworthy, so it's not seaworthy. It's airworthy, okay. Yeah, I understand. It's terrible when they come over Meow.
Speaker 3:When they come over.
Speaker 2:Meow no, we've had a bee. Follow us all day.
Speaker 1:It started with the damn turkey sandwich. Never bring a turkey sandwich camping. Okay, hey, I love it. The bee will not leave me the fuck alone.
Speaker 3:Yeah, it's a problem. I'm not good, the finest in Boeing machinery.
Speaker 2:Basically my small One, two, three.
Speaker 3:Running out of room. Same.
Speaker 2:Okay, you want to go first or we go first. Are we doing it at the same time? Same time. Okay, one, I'm so nervous it's not gonna fly. Hey, spoiler alert and the wind's blowing. Okay, ready, two, two.
Speaker 3:Three, three, oh, oh, I caught it. Wow, wow, oh, I caught it. Wow, this is so funny.
Speaker 1:Tuesday after I had Bash and you would bring me coffee and sit on the couch to chat and keep you sane.
Speaker 2:Yeah, we had such good times. Every person who's ever had a baby needs that. So this is ugly and proud days. These were the best. This was during school and you're my only friend that tried to understand and help with my depression Mm-hmm. She's all over the world. We would have ugly and proud days and just sit and veg on the couch. We've been couch friends forever. Yeah, yeah, we love a couch Mm-hmm. A couch and chat Mm-hmm.
Speaker 1:We were doing the rotting before anybody, before they call that rotting Trendsetters, ugly and proud base that's what those were called.
Speaker 3:Tuesday, postpartum days Yeehaw, get crazy. Wish for you Okay.
Speaker 2:You wrote it down?
Speaker 3:Yeah, because I forget stuff I already fucking knew. God damn it.
Speaker 2:Let me work my fold first, so that way I know which way to write it. No, that's it. How did I do this? No, I have a science fail. How did I do this?
Speaker 1:Oh, it's my data practice book Like a proud kid at science fail.
Speaker 3:Excuse me B, I'm busy Mind your bee's nest Ready, One, two three, two, okay.
Speaker 2:Same time, same time Okay. One, two, three. Oh my gosh, my wish also, kind of my wish also for us to live on a compound together and raise all our kids. That's our goal, okay.
Speaker 1:Mine's kind of great. She wishes that you get to live your life authentically, to how you want to, without the opinions of others. I have a severe issue with that. So, yeah, that's valid. Having a life you don't feel overwhelmed by good lord, me too. That is my wish. Oh, she gets me. If anybody has any ideas for that, send it my way okay, fabulous.
Speaker 2:I think two kind of has to do with one a little bit correct.
Speaker 1:Yeah, they kind of intertwine together this has been such a wholesome video, I just think, okay, so we're going to be doing a trust exercise where we are going to have to rely on each other's psych. We all know how clearly I see people for who they are sometimes, so she's doomed.
Speaker 2:You know how clearly.
Speaker 3:I can't see so and I don't have glasses. The blind leading the blind, we're gonna stack rocks. And the cold leading the cold.
Speaker 2:Yeah, okay. Now we were really prepared for this. We have this lovely shirt Okay, we'll use my clock. This lovely shirt, oh yeah, we'll use my clock. I put it on the front side, oh, yeah, yeah, okay. And I even did my fucking lashes all the way up here. So, yeah, phew.
Speaker 3:We're gonna put that glue to the tusks. Don't be nice and smack. Make sure you get our promo code.
Speaker 1:Okay, so you're gonna lean down. That was my voice.
Speaker 3:Okay, so you're gonna lean down. That was my voice. No, you can't. It's just voice. What? It's just voice. I thought I could touch. Well, not anymore. The games have changed. Zippity-day. I'm bending down. Use your right hand to grab the rocks to the right more and more.
Speaker 1:yep, that's your biggest one.
Speaker 3:I put four there. They're all just the same. Okay, this is the biggest one. Yep, that's the biggest one.
Speaker 1:I'm just gonna stop this one from falling okay, now you're gonna come to the right again. Right, a little farther. There you go, settle down beautiful okay we should be timing this okay, and again, come more to your right.
Speaker 3:You got it good, okay, you're almost back to three. These are tiny, yep, they're smaller and flatter, so it'd be a little easier to see. Yes, I got this. It's fucking flat. This isn't flat. No, they're not. Look, it doesn't stack. You're doing okay. Actually, they did stack, just shut up. I fell into the water. This doesn't stack. There you go. Now they are. You laid it flat, good, okay.
Speaker 1:Bring more to your right. Bring more to your right. Yeah, there you go, there you go Okay, all three.
Speaker 3:Oh, you're going for four, she's going for four folks.
Speaker 1:Okay, perfect.
Speaker 3:Okay, look at that rock stack. You did blind. Hey, that's actually pretty. I'm not a single lash out of place or crushed. Promo code WGTB, just kidding.
Speaker 3:It's so much harder when you can't see anymore. I didn't get to see it, I just saw it from my life. I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry. I I didn't get to see it, I just opened my mouth. Okay, I'm ready. Okay, where can you get down? Bend down. Wait, where else should we go? Go Okay now. Where you're Listen, sorry, listen. Where you're right-handed you're going. Is that towards twisted? Sorry. Ok, now a little bit to the right, a little bit more. Come on, cowgirls, stretch. Okay, that one's beautiful.
Speaker 3:Okay, the second one is right by the boat Down, just a little bit. It's your left hand is touching. Yep, now you need to go right. So you're going to go back to the first one. Get up there. Okay, now go to go right. This is where you first went. Go right there.
Speaker 3:View, okay, there's a view for us. Now go to your right and there, yeah, yes, it'll be a perfect time. No, you first touch it. Yep, this way. No, you first, you just had your hand on it.
